Rohit Sharma’s Team India, who outclassed Pakistan by eight wickets on Wednesday, will look to up the ante when they take on resilient Bangladesh, who have a penchant for punching above their weight, as the two teams meet in the opening Asia Cup 2018 Super Four encounter in Dubai on Friday. For India, the worry will be the team combination as Hardik Pandya has been ruled out of the tournament owing to back spasms and Bhuvneshwar Kumar might be rested after back-to-back games against Hong Kong and Pakistan. Young left-arm pacer Khaleel Ahmed may come in place of Bhuvneshwar but it is still not clear as to who would be Pandya’s replacement. Deepak Chahar has been named as the replacement player but it is unlikely that he will be drafted straightaway into the playing XI. (Play fantasy league and win cash daily)

Odisha, Coastal Andhra Pradesh On Pre-Cyclone Watch, Alert Issued

Parts of Odisha received rainfall today.

New Delhi:

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued alerts for south Odisha and north Andhra Pradesh coasts, warning that a “deep depression” that developed over west-central Bay of Bengal is likely to intensify into a cyclonic storm.

The weather agency warned that the “deep depression” might cross the coastal areas between Kalingapatnam and Puri, close to Gopalpur, at around midnight, with wind speed of 60-70 km/hour gusting to 80 km/hour.

“Squally wind speed reaching 45-55 km/hour gusting to 65 km/hour is very likely along and off Odisha and north Andhra Pradesh Coasts during next 06 hours. It will gradually increase becoming 60-70 km/hour gusting 80 km/hour from today evening for subsequent 12 hours,” an IMD release said.

Most of the areas of Odisha and coastal Andhra Pradesh will receive heavy rainfall, while some isolated areas may receive heavy to very heavy rainfall.

The weather office predicted rainfall in Telangana, Gangetic west Bengal, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh. Adjoining regions like Vidarbha, Rayalaseema, East Madhya Pradesh, West Madhya Pradesh and east Rajasthan may receive rainfall at isolated places.

The IMD warned that the state of sea will be rough to very rough over north Bay of Bengal and along and off Odisha, West Bengal and north Andhra Pradesh coasts during next 24 hours. It advised fishermen to not venture out in the sea in affected regions.

Meanwhile, monsoon revived over northern regions over the weekend. The national capital, Delhi, is likely to receive light showers in the next few days.

MS Dhoni Bats In Full Flow At Nets As India Gear Up For Pakistan Clash In Asia Cup. Watch

Dhoni, who stepped down as ODI and T20I captain in January 2017, has played 321 ODIs for India, scoring 10046 runs at an average of 51.25. He has 10 centuries and 67 fifties to his name.

The 2011 World Cup winning captain Dhoni last featured in the limited-overs leg of the recently-concluded series between India and England. He received a lot of flak after his lackluster performance in the three-match One-day International (ODI) series against England that India lost 1-2. He scored just 79 runs in three matches.

Recently, Dhoni became the fourth Indian and 12th overall in ODI history to score 10,000 runs. He achieved the milestone during second ODI against England at Lord’s.

With this incredible feat, Dhoni joined the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Sourav Ganguly, Kumar Sangakkara, Brian Lara and Sanath Jayasuriya on the elite list.

The 2011 World Cup winning captain is only the second wicketkeeper-batsman to touch the 10000-run mark. Sangakkara was the first designated wicketkeeper-batsman to achieve the landmark.

Under Dhoni’s captaincy, India lifted the 50-over World Cup in 2011 and the World Twenty20 in 2007. Dhoni also led India to the ICC Champions Trophy in 2013 in England.

Bangladesh and Afghanistan have both already made it through to the Super Four stage of the Asia Cup 2018 and on Thursday will be playing for the bragging rights. The winner of the match will top Group B, which in reality doesn’t amount to much with all teams playing each other in the Super Fours. Bangladesh and Afghanistan both registered emphatic wins over a dismal Sri Lankan team. While Bangladesh outclassed Sri Lanka by 137 runs, Afghanistan recorded their first win over the island country in ODI cricket with 91-run victory. Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi will play host to the final encounter in Group B. The two teams have met each other 5 times in ODIs with Bangladesh winning three of those encounters and Afghanistan two. The last time the two teams clashed, Bangladesh registered a big 141-run win in 2016 at Dhaka.

Emmy Awards 2018: How to Watch in India the TV Shows That Won Big at This Year’s Emmys

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and Game of Thrones emerged as the winners of the biggest awards at American TV’s biggest awards night, the 2018 Emmys, on Monday, one a new arrival on the stage while the other returned after a year’s gap. The Emmys are considered as the most coveted prize for US television, and thanks to its seven-awards haul at last week’s Creative Arts Emmys, Game of Thrones once again emerged as the (scripted) show with the most Emmys, pushing its record total to 47. The likes of The Americans, Barry, The Crown, Godless, and The Assassination of Gianni Versace were also recognised for their achievements, picking up a couple of Emmy Awards apiece. If this is the first time you’re hearing some of those names, fret not — we have you covered.

Emmys 2018 Winners: The Full List

Here’s how you can watch (most of) the 2018 Emmy winners in India from the comfort of your couch:

Game of Thrones

2018 Emmys won: 9, including Best Drama, Supporting Actor

Does the world’s most popular show still need an introduction? Dragons, magic and sex abound in this epic fantasy based on George R.R. Martin’s novels, which has moved ahead of the books due to the author’s notoriously-slow writing speed. The show returns in 2019 with its eighth and final season, so start now if you plan to catch up.

Claire Foy’s win was her last in the role, as the show changes its cast every two seasons.

Black Mirror: USS Callister

2018 Emmys won: 4, including Best TV Movie and Writing

Charlie Brooker’s tech-driven dystopian anthology series delivered a hit with its Star Trek-themed episode, where a socially-aloof and gifted programmer (Jesse Plemons) uses his co-founded online game – and the DNA of his co-workers – to enact out his Trek fantasies and abuse people’s clones who have no way of getting out.

Where to watch: Netflix

Westworld

2018 Emmys won: 4, including Best Supporting Actress

Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy use Michael Crichton’s 1973 film as the basis for a tale about the dawn of consciousness in androids, built to inhabit a theme park for the ultra-rich, who revolt against their human makers and where that leads. Young Fan Reacts In Agony After MS Dhoni Departs For A Duck In Asia Cup Tie Against Hong Kong. Watch

One of the modern greats of the game, MS Dhoni, getting out on a duck doesn’t happen quite often in cricket. In his 322-match ODI career, this rare occurrence has happened only nine times. The latest one occurred on Tuesday during India’s Asia Cup clash between India and Hong Kong in Dubai. One of the greatest finisher of the game, Dhoni, departed for a 3-ball duck in the first innings of the match. The episode caused great disappointment amongst the Dhoni fans. One such disappointed young fan was inside the stadium, who had come to see his idol fire against the minnow opposition. Dhoni’s surprise departure, shocked the young fan and the on-field camera’s captured his unbelievable disappointment.

India posted a decent target of 286 against Hong Kong in their opening match of the 2018 Asia Cup at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Asked to bat first after losing the toss, the defending champions India, at one stage were cruising towards a big target, being comfortably placed at 240 for two after 40.3 overs. But soon after the departure of centurion Shikhar Dhawan (127), India lost wickets in quick succession.

After a poor run in the England series, a lot was expected from Dhoni, but the former Indian skipper disappointed with the bat in the opening match of the tournament. Post Dhoni’s departure, India’s middle order also failed to handle the pressure and they eventually managed 285 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their quota of 50 over.

One of the top contenders of the Asia Cup, India will hope to win their opening match against Hong Kong with the likes of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal in their ranks.

India will next face Pakistan in their second group game on Wednesday in Dubai.

The intense rivalry between India and Pakistan will set the stage on fire when the two teams face each other in the Asia Cup 2018 clash at Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai on Wednesday. The two teams are facing each other for the first time in the United Arab Emirates since 2006, the last of their regular matches which were also held in Sharjah between 1984-2000. The game is also the first between the sub-continent rivals since Pakistan thumped India by 180 runs in the final of the Champions Trophy at The Oval in June last year.

Out of the 12 Asia Cup matches played between the two teams, India have won six times (5 ODIs and one T20I) while Pakistan have won on five occasions. One match ended with no result.

A formidable India will be aiming to make short work of minnows Hong Kong in their Asia Cup opener on Tuesday before facing arch-rivals Pakistan on Wednesday. The match against Hong Kong will be an ‘appetiser’ before cricket junkies are treated to a lavish spread of main course which will be the Indo-Pak rivalry. In the absence of regular skipper Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma will be leading the side.

Although Rohit and his colleagues won’t want to take Hong Kong lightly, in reality the match will only be a pre-cursor or a glorified dress rehearsal before they take on an in-form Pakistan the very next day. In the searing Dubai heat, where the mercury has risen up to 43 degree Celsius, the primary aim for the Men in Blue would be to get their combination right before the big game.
