Ireland Captain Laura Delany Breaks Down After Pakistan Loss. Watch Video

Propelled by captain Javeria Khan’s unbeaten 74 off 52 balls, the Pakistan women’s cricket team posted their highest T20I total – 139 /6 – in a Women’s World T20 Group B match against Ireland on Wednesday. In reply, Ireland could muster only 101/9 in 20 overs as the Pakistan bowlers ran through their batting order with ease. Apart from Isobel Joyce (30) and Clare Shillington (27), no other batters could reach or cross the double-figure mark. By virtue of this loss, Ireland slumped to their second consecutive loss in the tournament. In the post-match conference, Ireland captain Laura Delany broke down in tears while speaking about the loss. Laura Delany termed her team’s loss “so incredibly frustrating.”

“If we were professional I wonder what the score would have been out there today to lose the match by 40 runs,” said a dejected Laura Delany.

On the match front, Pakistan revived their campaign by recording their first win of the tournament. Pakistan bowlers Sana Mir, Aiman Anwer, Nashra Sandhu, and Aliya Riaz picked two wickets apiece as Ireland surrendered meekly.

Javeria Khan, who was adjudged player of the match, said that her unbeaten 74 was her best innings in terms of scoring runs.

“This is my best innings in terms of scoring runs. Could’ve been better, but I took my time initially and helped my team get a decent total. I had to change a bit of gear because the ball wasn’t coming on nicely to hit and they were bowling a bit slower.

“So, I took my time and seized on bad balls. I have been working hard on my T20 game, I know that you have to score runs quickly in this format. It was a good win,” Javeria further added.

Ireland next play India in their Group B match on Thursday, while Pakistan play New Zealand on the same day.

Cristiano Ronaldo, who recently led Juventus to victory against a 10-man AC Milan in the Serie A, was spotted enjoying an ATP Finals contest between World No. 1 Novak Djokovic and American John Isner at the O2 Arena in London. Accompanying him was his girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez and son, Ronaldo Jr, who is also making a name for himself as a footballer. Cameras panned at Ronaldo the moment he tried to catch the tennis ball flying in his direction. The ball slipped out of his hands, and hit Rodriguez on her head.

Watch the video here:

Against AC Milan, Ronaldo scored in the 81st minute as Juventus bounced back from their midweek UEFA Champions League defeat by Manchester United.

Mario Mandzukic headed in the opener in the eighth minute at the San Siro with Ronaldo adding a second on 81 minutes as Juventus maintained their six-point cushion ahead of the international break.

It got the defending seven-time Serie A champions back on track after suffering their first defeat of the season by United following two late goals despite Ronaldo’s stunning volley.

Juventus have 34 points from 12 games — six ahead of Carlo Ancelotti’s Napoli with Inter a further three behind.

“I’m very happy, especially for the team, because playing away to Milan is always very difficult. “It was important to win, because Napoli beat Genoa last night and we had to keep our distance.” said Ronaldo.

If You Wanted To Watch Thugs Of Hindostan For Katrina Kaif’s Suraiyya, It’s Here

New Delhi:

Let us just begin by saying ‘Suraiyya, jaan logi kya?’ Katrina Kaif, who plays a dancer named Suraiyya in Thugs Of Hindostan, raised set the bar high even for herself when it comes to setting the dance floor on fire with the song Suraiyya. Choreographed by Prabhu Deva, Katrina Kaif’s dance steps may be reviewed as some by experimental but she has indeed redefined perfection with her moves. Suraiyya begins with Aamir Khan, who plays a conman named Firangi Mullah, entering a performance area disguised as an officer of the East India Company. As the curtains are raised, Firangi steals some of the limelight with his antics and tries to join Suraiyya on stage.

But even after repeated attempts to woo Suraiyya, she swats away his hand and carries on with her show. Then onwards, you will find it hard to take your eyes off the screen as Suraiyya dances her way through three-and-a-half-minutes. The lyrics of the song turn out to be so true when it says “Baas kar Suraiyya!” If listened to it closely, the song is actually a smart exchange of threats between Firangi Mullah and Suraiyya, who is well aware of Firangi’s intentions. The song ends on a cliffhanging note with Suraiyya taking off Firangi Mullah’s wig and revealing his true identity.

Ahead of the film’s release, in a behind-the-scenes video shared by Katrina, she had confessed the perfecting Suraiyya involved moments of tears while Aamir Khan said in interviews that he couldn’t have danced like Katrina even if he rehearsed for a decade.

Meanwhile, Thugs Of Hindostan released to poor reviews on Thursday, which paired with negative word of mouth, have resulted in the film’s dipping box office collections. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared a progress report of the film’s ticket sales on Monday and said: “Thugs Of Hindostan faces rejection… The dwindling extended weekend biz clearly indicates it has failed to live up to the mammoth expectations… It did set new benchmarks on Day 1, but the negative word of mouth hit biz hard on subsequent days.” The film has recorded a sum of Rs 123 crore in four days and counting.

Directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, Thugs Of Hindostan marks Aamir Khan’s first film with Amitabh Bachchan and also stars Fatima Sana Shaikh.

Premier League leaders Manchester City can ensure Manchester United’s recent revival is short-lived by opening up a 12-point gap on their local rivals on Sunday. The champions hold just a two-point lead over Chelsea and Liverpool at the top of the table, but have looked relentless in recent weeks and shown no sign of a slip in standards from their record-breaking 100-point Premier League campaign of last season, scoring 12 times in their last two outings alone. United have failed to finish above City in the league since, and are already nine points behind the leaders. However, Jose Mourinho’s men were also buoyed by their best result of the season by a distance in winning at Juventus in dramatic fashion on Wednesday to back up victories over Everton and Bournemouth.
