Because it’s Thursday, Malaika Arora treated her Instafam to a throwback picture of herself and the caption suggests that it appears to be taken during one of her holidays. “Take me back. Happiness,” she wrote, adding a heart emoticon and the hashtag ‘Throwback Thursday.’ Guess who was the first celeb to comment on her post? Yes, you are absolutely right if your answer is Arjun Kapoor, whom Malaika is reportedly dating. “Hmm,” is how Arjun reacted to her photo, in which she looks pretty in a floral printed dress and sports a million dollar smile. Apart from Arjun, stars like Twinkle Khanna, Neha Dhupia, Abhishek Bachchan, Farah Khan and others have liked Malaika Arora’s Throwback Thursday post.
Take a look.

A section of the Internet thinks that the picture was taken in Italy, where Malaika celebrated her 45th birthday in October. It was reported that Arjun had also accompanied Malaika to Italy, but they refrained from getting photographed together at the Mumbai airport on their return.
On Karan Johar’s chat show Koffee With Karan 6, Arjun Kapoor confirmed that he is ‘dating’ someone. “A lot that has happened in the family over the last few months and also with me, which has given perspective for me to answer this. I finally feel like I have a sense of belonging and a family,” he said.
Malaika Arora was previously married to actor-filmmaker Arbaaz Khan. They are parents to son Arhaan.
On the work front, Arjun is currently filming Panipat. Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar and India’s Most Wanted are his upcoming releases.

Ekta Kapoor’s latest Instagram post is making the Internet very happy. On Saturday morning, Ekta treated her Instafam to a super cute selfie, which features the producer along with her “love of her life.” In case you still haven’t figured out what we are talking about, we are referring to Ekta’s latest Instagram post featuring her nephew Lakkshya. In the photograph, the duo can be seen happily smiling. Ekta Kapoor captioned the picture: “The love of my life!” and accompanied it with several heart emoticons. Needless to say, Ekta Kapoor’s Instafam also loved the picture and the comments prove that. Union Minister Smriti Irani, Simmba director Rohit Shetty, Tahira Kashyap have also liked Ekta’s post.
Check out Ekta Kapoor’s post here:
Lakkshya frequently makes appearances on Ekta Kapoor’s Instagram profile and we absolutely loves it when that happens. Last week, Ekta Kapoor shared a video on her Instagram profile, in which the little munchkin could be seen singing Lata Mangeshkar and Kishore Kumar’s Phoolon Ka Taron Ka from the 1971 film Hare Rama Hare Krishna.
This is what we are talking about:
Here are some more pictures of Lakkshya and Ekta Kapoor:
Laksshya was born to Tusshar Kapoor via IVF on June 1, 2016. Lakkshya goes to play school and is frequently spotted with plays dates with Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan’s son Taimur and Karan Johar’s children- Roohi and Yash.
On the work front, Ekta Kapoor launched Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2 in September last year. She is also busy with the production of several web-series through AltBalaji, a branch of Balaji Telefilms, which focuses on short films and web-series. Ekta Kapoor’s upcoming films include Mental Hai Kya, Jabariya Jodi and Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare.
Neetu Kapoor’s New Year’s post on Instagram – in which she wrote, “Hope in future cancer is only a zodiac sign” – startled some fans of Rishi Kapoor, who thought that the actor was being treated for cancer in New York for the last few months. When Hindustan Times asked Rishi Kapoor’s brother Randhir about the cancer reference in Neetu Kapoor’s post, he replied: “I don’t know much about it but this much I can tell you that (Rishi Kapoor) is doing well, that’s all. Let people say whatever they want to. That he is doing well is evident from the photos that I, too, have seen… He will soon be coming back to India. We are looking forward to that right now.”
In September, Rishi Kapoor took off from India stating in a tweet: “I am taking a short leave of absence from work to go to America for some medical treatment.” The actor also missed his mother Krishna Raj Kapoor’s funeral in India, which was held a few days after his medical treatment started in NYC. In subsequent days, he also shared pictures from a project he undertook while in New York.
Hello all! I am taking a short leave of absence from work to go to America for some medical treatment. I urge my well wishers not to worry or unnecessarily speculate. It’s been 45 years “plus”of wear and tear at the movies. With your love and good wishes,I will be back soon!
This is to dispel all notions and wrong speculations of my hair turning grey/white overnight. My hair was dyed by Awan Contractor for a film produced by Honey Trehan and Sony pictures directed by Hitesh Bhatia. Film is untitled. Trust this clears the air pic.twitter.com/0v5Z0nFcDN
Rishi Kapoor’s son Ranbir had been shuttling between India and the US to be with his father and to complete his pending projects. The actor celebrated New Year’s with Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor in New York and his rumoured girlfriend Alia Bhatt also accompanied him. Rishi Kapoor’s daughter Riddhima, her husband Bharat and their daughter Samara are also in New York since Christmas.
The Kapoor sibling special episode of Koffee With Karan was a laugh riot with Sonam, Rhea and Harshvardhan Kapoor cooking up a storm on the show! The three Kapoors divulged many family secrets and started off with the disclaimer that they address their parents Anil Kapoor and Sunita Kapoor as AK and Sonu respectively. When asked to describe their superstar father, Sonam went first and said: “He goes to the gym, he works out for precisely 45 minutes but he’s in the gym for three hours. He’s walking around, looking at himself and then working out!” Rhea joined in to say: “And then he does acting classes. You’ll wake up randomly to hear him screaming in the house… Sonu is so used to him!”
Rhea also appeared to reveal that Sonam and Anil Kapoor would rather stay away from crossing paths: “Sonam and my father have the funniest dynamic on this planet. They are both such creative, crazy sensitive personalities that they can’t handle each other’s reactions.” Rhea said the 62-year-old actor would always ask her to convey a message to Sonam rather than doing it himself.
Rhea’s brief description of her dad would be: “AK is the funniest, the most eccentric person,” to which Harshvardhan added: “I think we get this eccentricity from him.” Show host Karan Johar added a point of him own to corroborate how “crazy” Anil Kapoor is: “Abbas Mustan once offered him a role (to be cast as Sonam’s father) and he’s like ‘Do you think I look like Sonam’s father?'” LOL. But talking about the bond ‘AK’ shares with each of them, Rhea said: “AK and I are more like friends,” while he’s protective about Harshvardhan and considers Sonam as competition.
Anil Kapoor also sent out adorable messages to the Kapoor trio via a pre-recorded video and said: “We are really, genuinely blessed to have all three of you as children. Karan I’m proud of him also.”
On the show, Sonam Kapoor confessed that: “My dad’s ruined me,” and said he goes around the house looking into the mirror and saying: “I’m killing it!” Meanwhile, we also learnt that Sunita Kapoor is the one, who “runs the show” at the Kapoor household and that the youngest of the Kapoor siblings – Harshvardhan – is her favourite child.
In the Rapid Fire Round, Sonam, who was termed as the “Koffee legend”, said she looks best with actors Salman Khan and Fawad Khan on screen, that she would love to romance with husband Anand Ahuja to the song Yeh Raat Aur Yeh Doori and said: “My fashion sense is better than everybody’s!” Harshvardhan Kapoor, the quietest of the lot, tackled KJo’s questions with much spunk. He said he would love to be cast with Suhana Khan as the “Leela to his Ram” and opposite Ananya Panday as the “Simran to his Raj.” In the Calling The Kapoors round, nobody received Rhea’s calls while harsh managed to get Arjun Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor and mom Sunita Kapoor on the line. Sonam too called up Khushi and her mother.
Both the Rapid Fire and the Calling The Kapoors rounds were single-handedly won by Harshvardhan Kapoor. The Kapoors episode of Koffee With Karan ended with Karan Johar saying: “Harshvardhan, you are the boss!” Watch this space for more updates on Koffee With Karan.

Rishi Kapoor, Amyra Dastur and Anirudh Tanwar in Rajma Chawal (Image courtesy: Instagram)
Cast: Rishi Kapoor, Amyra Dastur and Anirudh Tanwar
Director: Leena Yadav
Rating: 3 Stars (Out of 5)
Garnished with flavours that range from the mildly pungent to the gently aromatic, Rajma Chawal, a bittersweet father-son drama set in Old Delhi, is instantly appetizing. The crowded, chaotic, colourful location plays a key part in the narrative, serving to reflect the uneasy relationship not only between a sullen young musician and his acerbic dad but also between two generations of Indians, one rooted in the past, the other looking ahead. The principal conflict in the film centres on the struggle within a family – and a locality – to find a meeting point for what has gone and what is at hand.
But no, Leena Yadav’s heartwarming film, released on Netflix, isn’t seeking to paint a big picture of a neighbourhood that is both static and in flux. It offers no startling insights into a milieu that is oft-seen in Hindi cinema nor does it have anything new to reveal about individuals coming to terms with loss, grief and loneliness. What Yadav does, and does well, is keep the narrative simple, light and uncluttered, which makes for consistently enjoyable viewing.
Following the untimely death of his wife, Mathur (Rishi Kapoor) decides to move to Chandni Chowk, where he grew up and where many of his childhood friends still live and work. His son, Kabir (debutant Anirudh Tanwar), has no sentimental connect with the place and is mighty peeved at the disruption caused by the shift. The grieving boy has reason to feel hard done by because, among other things, the abrupt relocation has led to the breakup of his band.
In no mood to forgive his father who, he feels, did not do enough to save his mother, he all but stops talking to him. If face-to-face talk isn’t happening, replace it with Facebook chat, an elderly neighbor suggests to Mathur. He takes a while to warm up to the idea, but agrees to not only play along but also open a fake Facebook account in the guise of pretty young girl, Tara (Amyra Dastur), to get his reticent son to bare his heart. The gamble is, of course, fraught with risk.
It pays off until the point Kabir runs into the real Tara – she is actually Seher, a small-town girl who works in a hair salon – at a nightclub gig. Mathur’s well-laid plan goes for a toss. Seher’s hotheaded boyfriend Baljeet (Aparshakti Khurrana) throws a spanner in the works and Mathur is compelled to come up with Plan B, which entails his paying the cash-strapped girl to keep the ruse going.
The three pivotal characters in Rajma Chawal are all fleeing from a past and grappling with a present that is anything but stable. Mathur’s bereavement has been aggravated by perfidious business partner. Kabir is in distress, having lost both his mother and his comfortable New Delhi home. Seher is on the run from her family in Meerut for reasons that aren’t divulged until near the end of the film.
But while the self-centred older man thinks nothing of clinging to old habits, the two youngsters are determined to move on with their lives. What good are these memories, Kabir asks, when somebody reminds him of the stories of Chandni Chowk that he heard from his mother as a boy. When Kabir, on his part, advises Seher to visit her family for Diwali, she confesses that the doors to her home are shut forever.
Rajma Chawal is occasionally marked by simplistic, broad brushstrokes and the film’s denouement isn’t entirely convincing. It is Yadav’s genteel approach to the material – it is a blend of slice-of-life drama and conventional romantic and emotional tropes – that helps the film strike and sustain a steady rhythm. No overly jarring notes interrupt its flow.
Rishi Kapoor leads the cast with aplomb. He is, as always, effortlessly on the ball. He receives enough support from Amyra Dastur and Anirudh Tanwar to be able to turn this agreeable tale into an engaging portrait of a social media tyro negotiating the challenges thrown at him by a rapidly changing social and digital environment. At no point does Tanwar look unsure of his screen presence. Dastur, too, turns in an impressively confident performance as the rebellious hairdresser whose own hairdo states her intentions upfront – a long pigtail on one side of the head and a razor-cut on the other, rounded off with a barcode tattoo on the neck.
Parts of Rajma Chawal might feel a touch under-cooked, but the rawness is only occasional. The work put in by the technicians is of the highest order. Among them are two internationally feted octogenarians, Australian cinematographer Donald McAlpine (Breaker Morant, Moulin Rouge!) and British editor Thom Noble (Witness, Thelma & Louise), who give the film is distinctive visual texture and narrative pace. The fluid camerawork takes in the alleyways, the terraces, the courtyards and the facades of Old Delhi in an unobtrusive, unflashy manner, enhancing the sense of intimacy that Rajma Chawal seeks to induce.
