Venezuela Striker Eduard Bello Celebrates Goal By Proposing To Girlfriend In The Stands

Scoring a goal is a joyous moment for any footballer at any level but a Venezuelan striker gave a whole new meaning to a ‘goal celebration’ when he decided to run into the stands and propose to his girlfriend. Eduard Bello, who plays for C.D. Antofagasta in the Chilean Primera Division, scored in the second minute of the game against Chile’s Everton and celebrated his goal in style. According to media reports, the forward got a ring from a member of coaching staff, ran into the stands and was then seen on video proposing to his girlfriend.

Fortunately for the Venezuelan footballer, his girlfriend said yes. In the video, Bello can be seen running up some stairs, ring in hand, to where his girlfriend is sitting. He then embraces and kisses her and gets down on one knee.

After receiving a round of applause from both sets of fans, Bello ran back onto the field.

Everton managed to fight back and took a 2-1 lead. But Bello once again took centre stage and found the back of the net for the second time in the match to draw his team level.

However, there was no fairy-tale ending for Bello. The 23-year-old was taken down by a rough tackle in the second half and forced to be substituted. To make matters worse for Bello and his team, Everton scored late into the match to snatch a 3-2 win.

A Venezuela international, Bello has been capped by his country on two occasions this year.

India, US Goal Is To Deny Iran Money To Destabilise Middle East

US and India have a goal of denying Iran the money it needs to destabilise the Middle East (File Photo)

The US and India have a goal of denying Iran the money it needs to destabilise the Middle East, a top American official said after his visit to New Delhi for talks over slashing India’s Iranian oil imports ahead of the November 4 deadline.

President Donald Trump in May pulled the US out of the 2015 nuclear accord, saying it had “failed to achieve the fundamental objective of blocking all paths to an Iranian nuclear bomb” and did not deal with Tehran’s “malign activities, including its ballistic missile programme and its support for terrorism”.

In an attempt to compel Iran to agree to a new accord, Trump reinstated sanctions that targeted the Iranian government’s purchase of US dollars, Iran’s trade in gold and other precious metals, and its automotive sector.

On November 4, a second batch of potentially more crippling sanctions will be re-imposed on Iran’s oil and shipping sectors as well as its central bank. The US has asked buyers of Iranian oil to cut imports to zero starting in November.

Describing the meetings with the Indian officials on the Iranian oil purchase issue as good, the Special US envoy on Iran, Brian Hook, however refrained from giving details of his discussions.

“On the India meetings, I also met with the Indian delegation to the UN during, I mean in New York during the UN General Assembly. I continued those discussions in Delhi, very good meetings. And I can’t get into specifics in terms of the nature of that discussion,” Hook told reporters in Brussels following his India visit.

“But what I can say is we are, we do have a goal of denying Iran the money that it needs, and we find that there’s a lot, I mean, to kind of destabilize the Middle East,” he said in response to a question.

“We continue to find that many countries including India share our concerns, especially the non-proliferation concerns. And the sunset clauses for the United States are of paramount concern, and it’s something that needs to be addressed,” Hook said.

In public policy, a sunset provision or clause is a measure within a statute, regulation or other law that provides that the law shall cease to have effect after a specific date, unless further legislative action is taken to extend the law.

The top American envoy opposed the creation of special purpose vehicles by the Europeans for the oil purchase so as to avoid US sanctions.

“With respect to the Special Purpose Vehicle, Secretary of State Pompeo said that that vehicle sends the wrong message at the wrong time. We believe that the US and the EU should be working together to find enduring solutions that truly support the Iranian people,” he said.

Cristiano Ronaldo Jr Follows Dad’s Footsteps, Scores Sensational Solo Goal. Watch

Watch: Cristiano Ronaldo Jr Follows Dad

Cristiano Ronaldo posted the video of his son playing football on social media © Instagram

Cristiano Ronaldo is regarded as one of the best footballers of our generation. He has scored numerous goals ranging from screamers to overhead kicks, his list seems to be unending. However, it appears his son Cristiano Ronaldo Jr wants to emulate his father in scoring some astonishing goals. In a video shared on social media by Cristiano Ronaldo, his son Cristiano Ronaldo Jr rattles the opposition players by scoring two brilliant goals for his Juventus youth team. The 33-year-old striker posted the clips of both his son’s goals to social media. Cristiano Ronaldo shared the video with a heart emoticon.

Last week, Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici had said it was not easy to replace a player of the calibre of Ronaldo as he also dismissed a return to Italy for Manchester United’s French World Cup winner Paul Pogba. Ronaldo, 33, joined Juventus from Real Madrid last summer for 100 million euros (115 million dollars). The Spanish club have lost three and drawn one of their last four matches and are currently fourth in La Liga.

“Ronaldo is probably the best player in the history of the game so he isn’t easy to replace,” Paratici told journalists at the Manlio Scopigno ceremony at Rieti in central Italy after receiving a “Manager of the Year” award. Paratici revealed that the five-time Ballon d’Or winner had been keen from the outset to join Juventus. “We talked about it initially, and straight away we got the feeling he wanted to join us, which was a huge advantage,” he said.

Last-Gasp Cristiano Biraghi Goal Saves Italy, Gives Roberto Mancini First Competitive Win

“A new cycle has already begun,” said Mancini.

“We dominated the game, we had to score the first goal, it would have been unfair to finish 0-0.

“All the lads are trying to do their best. It’s a good win in a very good game.”

Fiorentina defender Biraghi made the sign ’13’ with his hands when he scored, as he dedicated his first goal to former Italy and Fiorentina captain Davide Astori who died of a heart attack last March.

“I owe everything to him. I’m here thanks to Davide who was a mentor for me,” said Biraghi, who was called up to Italy for the first time last month at the age of 26.

European champions Portugal lead the three-team group with six points from two games with Italy on four points after three games with Poland relegated to League B with one point.

Mancini stuck with the same eleven he started with in last Wednesday’s 1-1 draw against Ukraine with Federico Bernardeschi, Lorenzo Insigne and Federico Chiesa leading the attack.

Nicolo Barella, 21, was chosen to start over Lorenzo Pellegrini in midfield after making his international debut in Genoa. Poland opted for the strike partnership of Robert Lewandowski and Arkadiusz Milik over Genoa forward Krzysztof Piatek, who has scored 14 goals in ten competitive games for club and country.

Italy had the best of the first half but once again demonstrated their difficulty finishing off.

Jorginho rattled the bar within the first minute, with Federico Chiesa also hitting the woodwork after half an hour in the Silesian Stadium.

Poland could thank Wojciech Szczesny for keeping them in the game with the under-pressure goalkeeper denying Alessandro Florenzi, Jorginho, Federico Bernardeschi and Juventus teammate Giorgio Chiellini in the first half.

Italy had a goal disallowed after 65 minutes following a well-worked pass between Bernardeschi and Marco Verratti with Insigne offside in the box.

Poland also had a couple of chances in the second half with Kamil Grosicki denied by Gianluigi Donnarumma, with Arkadiusz Milik curling over.

– ‘Never say die attitude’ –

Just when it looked as if both sides would settle for a draw, off the last corner, substitute Kevin Lasagna, who made his international debut, steered in for the Biraghi to finish off.

“It had looked as if the match was jinxed,” said Biraghi.

“The minutes were going by and the ball wouldn’t go in.

“When you create a lot and the ball doesn’t go in you start to get nervous, even risk losing.

“Instead we stayed calm and believed until the end. This victory is thanks to the group’s never say die attitude.”

The result ensures Italy stayed in the tier ahead of December’s Euro 2020 qualifying draw.

Italy next host Portugal on November 17 with Poland playing in Portugal three days later.

Harry Kane Plans To Emulate Lionel Messi’s Goal Spree

Kane has been prolific for Tottenham over the last four years, but he admits he needs to become even more ruthless with his finishing to approach the jaw-dropping statistics compiled by the Argentina forward.

“He set the standard, he and Cristiano Ronaldo have gone above the normal standard, when they are scoring 50 or 60 goals a season,” Kane said on Tuesday.

“As a striker I want to try and match that. He’s definitely set the standard for the rest of us and he still is.

“It motivates me to get even better and improve and hopefully one day score as many, if not more, than he has.

“It’s a great test for us. As players you want to play against the best in the world and Messi is certainly that, a fantastic player, and we will do our best to stop him.”

Tottenham lost their opening European game at Inter Milan, leaving the Premier League side with no margin for error as they try to qualify for the knockout stages.

If Mauricio Pochettino’s side are to make it to the last 16, a victory over Spanish champions Barcelona would be a major boost.

And to achieve that goal, they will need England captain Kane at his lethal best.

Amazing energy

Kane, who finished as the World Cup’s top scorer earlier this year, is back in form, with three goals in his last two games after a lethargic start to the season.

Barcelona have wobbled domestically of late, with two draws and a defeat, to bottom side Leganes, in their last three matches.

Hoping to add to Barcelona’s problems, Kane says Tottenham will draw on the memories of last season’s stunning 3-1 Wembley win over Real Madrid in the Champions League group stages.

“We got off to a great start last season, beating Dortmund at home. It was not so great to lose to Inter this time around,” Kane said.

“We’ve got to prove we can beat the best teams in the world and we need to do that against Barcelona.

“Barcelona might play better than Real Madrid did last season. We need to produce that same energy, the crowd were amazing that night.

“If we can get them on their feet as soon as possible, create some chances and take one or two it would put us in a great position.

“We went through a stage where we didn’t win in three matches and maybe a bit of pressure starts to build.

“I’m sure Barcelona want to bounce back but it’s our chance to stop them and win four games in a row, which would be great momentum for us.”

Spurs will have to take on Barcelona without Christian Eriksen, Mousa Dembele and Jan Vertonghen, who have joined Dele Alli on a growing casualty list.

“It is a period when we are not having good luck with injuries,” Pochettino said.

“We are not victims though. We must feel strong. Every player must feel they can win and achieve what we want.”

FIFA 19: Random Goal Celebration Option Added

EA Sports has added a ‘Random Celebration’ option to FIFA 19, players have spotted while playing the new demo that released last week. After you score a goal, you can trigger it by hitting the circle button on the PlayStation 4 or the B button on Xbox One.

It’s unclear if the limitation on possibilities has been removed as well. For now, it means you don’t have to remember a series of button combinations and then execute them perfectly during the few seconds after a goal. Instead, you can sit back and just press the new random celebration button in FIFA 19 to witness something you might have never seen before.

You can read about our first impressions of the FIFA 19 demo, which we felt was a familiar and fun experience owing to the gameplay being similar to FIFA 18 albeit with some interesting new optional introductions by way of ‘Timed Finishing’ that brings a risk vs reward system in addition to big tactical changes in the name of ‘Game Plans’ – which riffs on Konami’s Pro Evolution Soccer – and ‘Dynamic Tactics’.

FIFA 19 is out September 28 on PC, PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and Nintendo Switch. You can avail three-day early access by purchasing special editions, and eight-day early access by signing up for EA’s subscription-based offerings EA or Origin Access.

If you’re a fan of video games, check out Transition, Gadgets 360’s gaming podcast. You can listen to it via Apple Podcasts or RSS, or just listen to this week’s episode by hitting the play button below.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic Happy To Make Toronto FC His 500th Goal Victim

Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic made history on Saturday, scoring his 500th career goal in stunning fashion, but it wasn’t enough to lift the Los Angeles Galaxy to a win over Toronto FC. The 36-year-old Ibrahimovic has always had a flair for the dramatic and he did just that in becoming the third active footballer to reach the milestone for club and country, joining Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. The six-foot-five (1.95 metre) Ibrahimovic delivered a perfectly-timed roundhouse kick in the 43th minute that fooled goalkeeper Alex Bono for his 17th goal of the season.

The goal cut the deficit to 3-1 and sparked a three-goal Galaxy rally, but the defending MLS champions held on to win 5-3 in front of a crowd of 30,700 at BMO Field in Toronto.

“I am happy for Toronto because they will be remembered as my 500th victim,” said Ibrahimovic.

Ibrahimovic came into Saturday’s game tied for second in MLS scoring. He has 17 goals and eight assists in 22 appearances with the Galaxy.

Jonathan dos Santos volleyed the ball over to the Swedish star who whipped around and tapped it home.

“I was close to the goal. It reminds me of a goal I did in Ajax,” said Ibrahimovic, who has five game winners for Los Angeles. “It came from a cross and I turned around and I hit it. I was just trying to hit the goal and it went in.”

Ibrahimovic scored 62 of his goals for Sweden with the rest coming while playing for Malmo FF, Ajax, Juventus, Inter Milan, Barcelona, AC Milan, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United and now the Galaxy.

Jonathan Osorio’s 75th-minute go-ahead goal halted a three-goal Galaxy comeback and helped give Toronto some much needed points in their playoff push.

Jay Chapman added an insurance goal in stoppage time with a low shot to the corner.

Ibrahimovic left Manchester United to join the Galaxy at the start of this season.

“It is an incredible achievement,” said Galaxy coach Dominic Kinnear of Ibrahimovic’s goal. “The guy is a great goal scorer and it is a memorable one for him for many reasons.”

Asked if it was memorable one for the coach, Kinnear said, “In about 10 years from now.”

Cristiano Ronaldo Chases First Juventus Goal Before Champions League Return To Spain

Serie A returns after a two-week international break with former Real Madrid player Ronaldo having skipped Portugal duty to focus on his new club, just as his teammate, Croatia’s World Cup runner-up Mario Mandzukic, did.

During the break the 33-year-old was pictured relaxing on board his yacht off St Tropez on the French Riveria.

“Vitamin D,” wrote the five-time Ballon d’Or winner under a photo of him lounging on the deck of his yacht.

“As my teammates say, back to reality, work done,” he later posted. “Feeling good!! Let’s go.”

Coach Massimiliano Allegri says he is not concerned that Ronaldo has failed to find the net despite 23 shots at goal in three games.

“It takes time. We’ll all be fresher after the break and that’s when the real season starts,” said Allegri.

Ronaldo had to wait until his fourth game for Real Madrid last season to get his first league goal.

Germany midfielder Sami Khedira pointed out in an interview after his contract at Juventus was extended this week that the Portuguese star was brought in not to rack up goals but to make the difference in the Champions League and turn “dreams into reality”.

Juventus beat Sassuolo 7-0 in their final match last season, but the club from Modena have made a strong start this campaign and are just behind the champions in the table after two wins and a draw.

Allegri will be keen to rotate his side with a crowded schedule of seven games in 21 days, and defender Andrea Barzagli sidelined with a calf problem.

Argentine Paolo Dybala – Juventus’s top Serie A scorer last season – and Brazilian Douglas Costa look set to start on the bench.

Despite being overshadowed by the arrival of Ronaldo, Dybala insists he feels fortunate to play in the same team as the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.

“I told myself after I was lucky to play with Lionel Messi in the national team, I have now had the opportunity to play alongside Ronaldo,” said Dybala.

Napoli, Roma and Inter Milan also have Champions League games on their minds.

Roma host Chievo on Sunday after their loss to AC Milan before the break, and ahead of a trip to Spain to take on holders Real Madrid.

Inter Milan play at home against Parma on Saturday before playing Tottenham Hotspur in the San Siro in their first European game since the 2011-2012 season.

Luciano Spalletti’s Inter – with last year’s star forward Mauro Icardi fighting to shake off a muscular injury – are coming off a 3-0 win over Bologna after taking just a point from their first two games.

Carlo Ancelotti will look to put his first defeat as Napoli coach behind him when last season’s runners-up host Fiorentina before playing Red Star in Belgrade on Tuesday.

Fiorentina have won two games with their first match against Sampdoria postponed because of the Genoa bridge disaster.

AC Milan head to Cagliari in Sardinia with former Juventus forward Gonzalo Higuain also waiting to score his first goal for his new club.
