A 16-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped and murdered in Bihar’s Gaya district

Gaya, Bihar: 

A 16-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped and murdered in Patwatoli locality in Gaya district of Bihar. The incident reportedly took place on January 12.

The minor’s mutilated body was found just a few metres away from her residence.

Magadh Range Deputy Inspector General Vinay Kumar said, “A detailed investigation will be done based on all inputs. Everything is being verified. We will uncover the truth soon.”

The incident occurred just days after a 16-year-old girl’s decomposed body was found in Gaya on January 6. The girl was found beheaded, with her face burn with acid and deep gashes on her chest. The teen’s family alleges she was raped.

The incident sparked public anger and led to huge protests over a perceived delay in police action.

Minor Gang-Raped, Filmed By Stepfather, His Cousin: Police

A 16-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her stepfather and his cousin, who also recorded a video of their act at Kandhla town in Shamli district, police said Sunday.

According to a police official, the incident took place on Saturday and the police had registered a case against Waseem, the girl’s stepfather, and his cousin Tanvir, both on the run, under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

According to the complaint lodged by the girl’s mother, her daughter was raped by the accused, who also recorded a video of their act and threatened to make it viral if the girl narrated her ordeal to anyone.

The complainant had got married to Waseem, after her first husband passed away, in October last year.

A hunt had been launched for the accused, the police official said.

In another incident, a 16-year-old boy, who worked as the helper of a truck, was allegedly sexually assaulted by the driver of the vehicle and beaten up when he tried to resist.

According to a police official, the incident took place in Shamli district on Saturday and the police had arrested the truck driver.

Teenager Allegedly Kidnapped And Gangraped, Five Arrested In Ranchi

A teen-aged girl was allegedly kidnapped and gangraped by a group of youths when she and her friends were returning after celebrating the birthday of one of them, the police said on Tuesday.

The incident happened in a forest near Ranchi on Sunday night, the police said on Tuesday.

“We have arrested five persons in connection with the incident while hunt is on to apprehend one more accused, who is reported at large,” said Superintendent of Police (Rural), Ranchi, Ashutosh Shekhar.

Asked whether it was a case of gangrape, Mr Shekhar said “We are waiting for the medical report to confirm it.”

In her statement, the girl alleged that she was gangraped.

The incident occurred following a scuffle between a group of students and local youths when they were returning to Ranchi after celebrating birthday of their friend on motorbikes, he said.

Bengal Girl Gang-Raped By 5, Dumped On The Streets In Odisha: Police


A girl from West Bengal was allegedly drugged and gang-raped by five youths in Odisha’s Balasore district, police said on Saturday.

Police said the youths allegedly took her with them after luring her on Friday night. After raping her, they dumped the girl on the roadside near Rasulpur village, police said.

The girl was rescued by locals and has been admitted to a hospital.

After registering a case, police have launched a manhunt to arrest the suspects.

As per reports, the girl hails from Ramnagar area in West Bengal, police said.

NRI From South Africa Gang-Raped At Beauty Parlour In UP By Tour Guide, Another Man: Police

Two persons, including a tour guide, were arrested in Uttar Pradesh’s Mathura on Tuesday for the alleged gang-rape of a young Non-Resident Indian or NRI, police said.

The survivor, who is settled in South Africa, had come with a woman friend to Mathura three days back and was allegedly raped in a beauty parlour at the city’s Dampier Nagar area on Monday.

After a friend of the survivor lodged a police complaint, the two alleged rapists were arrested.

The tour guide apparently lured the NRI to the parlour in Dampier Nagar, promising her a body massage. She alleged that her drink was spiked and the two then raped her.

Superintendent of Police Shravan Kumar said the South African embassy in New Delhi had been informed about the crime.

Sisters Allegedly Kidnapped, Gang-Raped For 2 Days By 3 Men In Tripura

A 13-year-old and her elder sister were allegedly kidnapped and gang-raped for two days under confinement in Tripura’s Unakoti district, police said Friday.

A 34-year-old auto-rickshaw driver, believed to be the prime accused, has been arrested, the police said.

According to the FIR, the sisters were waiting near a bridge in Kailashahar town — 140 km from Agartala — on November 9 to catch a vehicle home. They boarded an auto-rickshaw and the driver picked up two male passengers, who were known to him, on the way.

Instead of dropping them home, the auto-driver, along with the other two, gagged them with towels and took them to Teliamura town in Khowai district. The three then repeatedly raped the duo inside a room for two days, Sampa Das, the duty-officer of Kailashahar women police station, told reporters.

After two days, the victims were released at the Teliamura railway station, where they informed the Government Railway Police (GRP) who, in turn, handed them over to the police on Sunday.

“We kept the victims in our custody and learnt about their details and informed their parents. The parents took them from our custody on November 12 (Thursday),” Teliamura police station Officer-in-Charge Swapan Debbarma said.

The auto-rickshaw driver was picked up on Thursday night on the basis of complaint filed by the the sisters’ mother, said Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Biplab Deb.

An investigation is on and the police are trying to arrest the other two accused, the ASP said.

Woman Dead After Allegedy Being Gang-Raped, Violated With Stick

Jamtara, Jharkhand: 

A woman died after she was allegedly raped by three men, including her former husband, and a stick was inserted in her private parts in Jamtara district of Jharkhand, police said Thursday.

Senior Police officer B N Singh said the woman’s ex-husband has been arrested a search is on to arrest the two others.

According to police, the woman had gone to watch a play at a theatre on Kali Puja on Wednesday night. Her former husband and two of his associates forcibly took her to a field in the village. After raping her, they inserted a stick in her private parts, police said.

On hearing the woman’s cries for help the next morning, villagers took her to a hospital in Narayanpur town from where she was referred to Jamtara Sadar Hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead.

Locals told police that she had accused her former husband and the other two men of raping her when they had found her in the field.

In Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly, Teenager Gang-Raped In ICU Allegedly By Hospital Staff, 4 Others

A teenager gangraped in the ICU of a hospital in Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly.

Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh: 

A teenager was gang-raped, allegedly by a hospital worker and four others, in the ICU in Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly on Saturday. She was admitted in the ICU of a private hospital five days ago, after she was bitten by a snake, while working in the family farm. The police have arrested a staff member of the hospital and are on the lookout for four others.

The girl was the only patient in the ICU when she was gang-raped.

“She narrated the incident after she was shifted to the general ward. A case has been registered and an investigation is underway,” senior police officer A Singh told news agency ANI.

The police have filed a First Information Report (FIR) against the hospital staff and four of his aides. The CCTV footage of the ICU has been seized by the police.

The girl told her grandmother that a man in uniform and four others walked into the ICU when she was alone at night. They tried to forcefully give her an injection and when she fought them, the men gagged her and tied her hands and raped her, the teenager said. Her grandmother raised an alarm and complained to the doctors about the incident and the hospital authorities called the police. 

Two weeks ago a ward boy and a medical student were arrested for allegedly raping a nursing student while she was admitted at a hospital in Uttar Pradesh’s Bagpat. The 17-year-old student was raped at midnight, when her sister, who was attending on her, had gone out to get tea, police officer Shailesh Kumar Pandey told news agency IANS.

The accused took the nursing student to the emergency room on the pretext of running some tests and injected her with a sedative and raped her, said the police.

Woman Allegedly Held Captive, Gangraped in Odisha’s Puri For 10 Days

A 25-year-old woman from West Bengal was allegedly gangraped for 10 days in confinement at a market complex in Puri district of Odisha, the police said today.

The police have detained two people in connection with the crime and interrogation is on, Puri district additional superintendent of police Gagarin Mohanty said.

During interrogation, it was revealed that the woman was brought to Odisha by another woman named Kajal on the pretext of securing a job for her a year ago. However, the woman was forced into prostitution by Kajal and a man.

The police said the woman informed that several other people were also held captive along with her and raped for days.

The woman was rescued by the police who broke open the lock on Wednesday after she raised an alarm from the roof top of the building where she was detained.

The woman was admitted to the Puri district headquarters hospital.

Women activists of opposition BJP and the Congress met the woman at the hospital and have asked the authorities for immediate arrest of all the accused.
